Peace Gardens

The Erasmus Foundation is surrounded with beautiful gardens and meadows with a variety of plants, birds and animals.

In the early hours we are often visted by a local heron who feeds from the pond. Hopefully, he will still leave us some goldfish.

Other varieties of birds include, green and greater spotted woodpeckers, long-tailed, coal, great and blue tits, yellowhammers, greenfinch, goldfinch and chaffinch, collard doves, fieldfare, as well as, of course, the more common mallard ducks, moorhens, wrens, robins, blackbirds, starlings, rooks, and jackdaws. We even saw a kingfisher, one day, sitting on the bridge over the pond.

It would seem that the peace and tranquillity of the grounds provides a natural sanctuary for all wildlife, and the word seems to have got around.

People are always welcome to walk around the gardens and enjoy the tranquility and beauty at any time, but please contact us to make an appointment.
